Day 5.1

Day 5.1

First let me say, we are in Mesa Verde National Park and to get cell service we have to go to the highest point in the park a fire tower on top of a mountain. Because of the steep canyons there is no cell phone service. So all of those who wish to call understand this.....

I'm up again at 4am. We have a guided tour to take at 9am and it takes 1 1/2 hours to get there. That on my mind and the hour time change and for someone who normally gets up early, gets up WAY to early.... Sitting here with the ghost of the Pueblos having my coffee. And the deer, chipmunks, 1,000s of horny-toads, turkey, AND bear.............

The latest and greatest is we have a new National Park Jr. Park Ranger in the family. YAP, yesterday Pasquale completed ALL the requires in a hand book to become a Jr. Ranger. And he did it in 3/4 of a day. Really this was a big deal. Before he completed the book for his age group we had to find a ranger to help with the directions because it was pretty hard.

He's super proud of himself and he should be. It's funny when he gets his mind to something he REALLY goes at it.... The thing I love about it is it's opened his mind to our parks in a new way. Don't let him catch you doing something your not suppose to. He's picking up trash and talking about the history and the geology of Mesa Verde like he was born here.... Pretty cool...

Today it's is Ranger guided tours of the cliff dwellings. The first is going to be Pasquale's favorite, we have to climb a 35' ladder and crawl through a rock cave... He's pumped. I'll blog more when we get back....
